Rockin' Rob Sherrrell's, yes I'm using a Major League (the movie) reference, Uga Hoop Dawgs report

Welcome to the Bulldawg Illustrated Hoops Report.

It’s like The Jackson 5, if by Jackson you mean “How many in a row have the Dawgs won?” It was as ugly as it could be Saturday night , but we won. It was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen, but not even because we kept getting hooked. The refs chopped the game up and made it tough to watch. Then at the very end with the game in hand, the refs again intervened and brought a settled dispute back into court. If you didn’t see, or if you did, I’ll make this short and sweet. We’re up 8 with a minute or so to go and we’re inbounding. We turn it over, if memory serves me correctly. They inbound, miss a shot, offensive rebound and then foul on us. Then, out of left field a technical on KCP. So they hit two tech and two FTs on the foul and it’s a four point game. From that point on we inbound, hit fouls shots, yadda yadda, yadda. Then there’s a scrum at the end. Refs miss two offensive fouls and call a jump ball with .04 seconds left. Weird. I still have no idea what happen. Let me know if you do. Now, to more pressing issues …

We have to beat Bama tonight at 9 pm in Athens. We owe them from SECCG. And we owe them for the two brutal losses from two years ago. Both stung and were devastating losses. I think it’s some atmospheric karma at work. Why? Well, they beat us twice in 2011, but we made the NCAA tourney over them. So, the yin and yang evened up at some point and it Fox’s Dirty Dozen that are ready to do battle. And speaking of battle, our next three are wars. I would take 1-2 right now. However, I don’t think this team worries about the next three. I think they worry about the next one. Alabama may be better. I have no idea because I haven’t seen them play. Don’t know a thing about them. All I know is that we have KCP and a bunch of guys that believe. We’ve not lost this month. I’d love to write a book in a few years called “Eight Games in February”. It would be about a team of over-achievers shocking the SEC. But I digress. We’ve got to hold on to the ball Tuesday night and we’ve got to get some more scoring from Donte Williams. He scored the first four points of the game vs. A&M. Then, he got in foul trouble and didn’t scratch again. But he scored on two wide-open dunks. Who’s got two thumbs and said last week we need to get Donte scoring easy baskets at least two or three times a game because he’s always open? This guy! So keep it up.

OK. It’s Alabama! It’s Prime Time! It’s the SEC ESPN Game of the Week! If you have to quit your job, leave your wife, or sell your kids’ college fund to get to the arena, do it! We need it loud. Remember in Major League when the crowd helped fire the tribe up? Willie Mays Hays? Well that’s Charles Mann. Maybe Cannon is Jaboo. I dont know. But KCP is our Wild Thing. And he’s always looking to explode. That stud Elston Turner kept him under wraps Saturday. I think he’s got to be ready to explode on Tuesday. Do the Dawgs pull an upset and make it six in a row? What can I say, I’m a homer! Go Dawgs!
