Rockin' Rob Sherrell's, 'Rebel without a Cause,' Uga Hoop Dawgs report

Welcome to the Bulldawg Illustrated Hoops Report.
It’s like “Rebel without a Cause,” if by Rebel you mean General Ackbar’s Black Bears and by Cause you mean Chance! Our Dawgs head to the beautiful little town of Oxford for a run-in with All-SEC Chucklehead Marshall Henderson and the Ole Miss ______ (Insert nickname here).
After coming off a brutal loss in which the Dawgs offense was truly offensive, we are looking to rebound against a reeling Ole Miss team that started the year of conference play 6-0, I believe, but have since lost four of their last five. But before we look ahead to Ole Miss, let’s figure out what the heck happened last Tuesday night!
The Dawgs score 45. KCP scored 22. Jurisic scored in double digits. No one else made any significant offensive contribution. The game showed how truly bad SEC basketball is because Bama is now 8-3 and not at all a good basketball team based on what I saw on my TV screen. I normally don’t drink heavy on Tuesday nights, but watching that game made Wednesday morning rough. That’s about all I can say.
However, the great thing about this year’s conference schedule is there are no off days. So you’ve got plenty of time to rebound and it’s starts Saturday night in Oxford where you can rest assured there will be some beautiful scenery decorating the arena.
As we stated, the Rebels are lead by three-time transfer Marshall Henderson. Just like the late, great Troy McClure, you may remember him from such films as “I was a Teenage Jackbottom” (the editor is telling me to keep it less WB), and “Pass it Stupid, I’m Open! A manifesto to my Teammaters”. He currently leads the SEC in scoring and idiotic antics. I’m sure the fans love him in Ole Miss, but he is more show than substance. I’ve watched him play one game this year. And it’s amazing because he scored 22 and no one ever passes him the ball, nor does he pass the ball. Once he gets it, he shoots it. He is a one-man carnival and I’m sure he’s somewhat entertaining. But when you’re at your fourth college in five years, you’ve got some issues that would scare Dr. Phil. I don’t know what caused all of his transfers and really don’t care. All I care about is shutting him and his team down Saturday night. KCP loves covering the other team’s best player so they could be matched up when Ole Miss has the ball. I got a feeling Henderson hasn’t played defense since Reagan was in the White House. So I wouldn’t think they let him guard KCP. But either way, KCP will get him.
So we have the number scorer in the SEC on one side, and the number two on the other. One guy never says a word and the other never shuts up. This is truly a matchup of night and day. This Henderson character seems to cause trouble just so he can’t get his name in the paper, and he is obviously gotten a lot of attention nationally. However, I’d rather have substance than distractions and that’s what our Dawgs have in KCP! Make no mistake, Henderson can fill it up, but I’m sure his teammates are even sick of him and his shenanigans at this point. He may be a direct result of why their team is in a tailspin at the moment. Let’s help them keep it going in that direction.
Go Dawgs!
