Athfest 2009- Dreams So Real Reunion

We had a lazy lazy weekend (much needed after two Member Guest golf tournaments, Ansley and Athens Country Club and getting a 48 page Bulldawg Illustrated out on the streets) and then decided we must get over to Athfest 2009 on Sunday. The 80s band, Dreams So Real, had a reunion and played that afternoon downtown and then after at The Melting Point. It was great to see band members Barry Marler, Trent Allen and Drew Worsham jump right back into their rhythm. They played all of your old favorites like Rough Night in Jerico, Melanie, Here to Speak My Mind and Bearing Witness.

A group of us old I repeat old groupies went over to The Last Resort for dinner with band member Trent Allen and then we popped to the Melting Point for a little bit more of a walk down memory lane. You may recognize the Allens as the husband and wife duo out taking pictures on game day in the Sanford Stadium skysuites. Not Vance and me, the other couple.

Athfest 2009 made for a fun weekend of music in Athens,GA! There was lots of love out there for The Georgia Theatre and the rumor was rampant that we will see it back up and running as soon as possible. I think having Athfest so quickly on the heels of it burning gave hope to pull together for that music icon in Athens.
