Before this football season kicked off, I expressed the opinion that preseason No. 1 Georgia wouldn’t be able to go on the road and pull off the mighty accomplishment of defeating LSU and Florida – the last two defending national champions – on back-to-back Saturdays. I just couldn’t see the Bulldogs, as good as they were, being able to stage a peak performance against BOTH the Tigers and Gators within a seven-day period. And, of course, as we now know, these 2008 Dogs weren’t able to complete the LSU-Florida sweep but, only thing is, I was just the opposite on my forecast of these two games.
