The fourth-ranked Georgia Bulldog men’s tennis team travels to Seattle, Washington to face off with No. 14 Columbia in the first round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship at the Nordstrom Tennis Center on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The fourth-seeded Bulldogs secured a spot in the championship with victories over Iowa and Memphis during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in January, held in Athens. The 16-team field consists of the 15 other qualifying teams, as well as the host school, the University of Washington.
Georgia seeks its third ITA Indoor Championship in program history this weekend – the first two came in 2006 and 2007 under head coach Manuel Diaz.

Former University of Georgia multi-sport athlete and legendary high school coach Billy Henderson died Wednesday at the age of 89.
Henderson, a two-sport standout for the Bulldogs in the late 1940s, earned a total of eight letters. He played on the 1946 and 1948 SEC Championship football teams and was a three-time MVP in baseball. Following graduation, he was drafted and signed by the Chicago Cubs. He spent two years in their organization before deciding on a teaching and coaching career.Continue Reading

“In the first two quarters, the Bulldogs got points on a 1-yard run by Nick Chubb, a 21-yard pass from Fromm to ace senior receiver Javon Wims and Rodrigo Blankenship’s 37-yard field goal on the last play of the half, which came after Tech’s only score … a 10-yard pass from TaQuon Marshall to a surprisingly wide-open Ricky Jeune in the right corner of the end zone. Georgia opens the 2018 baseball season Friday at Foley Field against Georgia Southern with first pitch slated for 5 p.m.
Under the direction of Ike Cousins head baseball coach Scott Stricklin, Georgia returns all nine starting position players from a year ago and 14 pitchers who saw action including two members of its starting rotation. Last year, Georgia started five freshmen on Opening Day (Tucker Bradley-LF, Cam Shepherd-SS,Aaron Schunk-3B, Will Proctor-2B, and Tucker Maxwell-CF) the most since 2009 when five started. Shepherd earned Freshman All-SEC honors after starting all 57 games and batting .307-5-28 plus posted a .953 fielding percentage.Continue Reading
